Sleeping Man Video Projection / 2015

HD, 31:31 min loop, 16:9 (vertical), color, sound

"...I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."

- William Butler Yeats

The act of sleeping is an escape from daily life. The sleeping person is defenceless, this is prescinded from the poise above or beyond the daily reality, an intimate act towards the exhibited projection. The deliberate denial of additions in the picture is based on the idea to modify the resting place of the protagonist into an immeasurable space, to a black 'nowhere'. Also, the viewer is invited to perceive the floating state of the sleeping man as a falling state.

Information and reference towards reality is reduced to the physic of the sleeping person, his clothes and his breathing. One can only guess the protagonist's social background.
